It must have been quite a bash. Two of the 10 richest men in the world – who were allegedly involved in a love triangle with one of their wives – were pictured looking the worse for wear in a daytime shot.
Google founder Sergey Brin appeared to be drinking white wine from a plastic cup rather than the hand cut lead crystal he could clearly afford. He also seemed to be putting his arm around a woman’s shoulder while a second woman with dyed pink hair had her back to the camera.
And Elon Musk was unshaven as he guffawed into the camera wearing a collarless Henley shirt.
Now DailyMail.com can reveal exactly where the party picture was taken and how the alleged love rivals came to be seen in the same shot.
They were at a party in tony Half Moon Bay, California, to celebrate the 40th birthday of Genevieve Jurvetson, wife of entrepreneur Steve Jurvetson, who sits on the board of Musk’s SpaceX.
Jurvetson, 55, is himself a billionaire, but with nowhere near the fortune of his two guests – who rank Numbers 1 and 9 on the world wealth list. While world’s richest man Musk is said to be worth $271 billion and Brin has $96 billion, Jurvetson’s fortune is a ‘mere’ $1.8 billion.
But that relative poverty was not enough to keep the titans of tech from enjoying his hospitality. He threw the party at his secluded home on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
‘Steve threw a huge birthday bash for Genevieve’s 40th birthday last weekend,’ a local told DailyMail.com when we went to confirm the whereabouts of the mystery party.
‘There were several millionaires and a handful of billionaires in attendance. The dirt parking lot had several hundred thousand dollars’ worth of high-end cars parked in it.’

Twitter has issued a flurry of legal requests seeking information about an array of elite Silicon Valley investors in Elon Musk‘s inner circle, as the company pursues its lawsuit attempting to force the billionaire to complete his $44 billion takeover.
In one subpoena issued on Monday, Twitter requested information on a wide range of Musk’s inner circle, including some who were not previously reported as having any involvement with the deal, according to the Washington Post.
Named in the request were investors Chamath Palihapitiya, David Sacks, Steve Jurvetson, Marc Andreessen, Jason Calacanis and Keith Rabois, among others.
Investor Joe Lonsdale, an associate of Musk, said on Twitter that he had also received a subpoena from the social media firm.
Chamath Palihapitiya: A prominent venture capitalist with an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion. His connection with the deal is unclear, but he attended the All-In Summit in May with Musk’s other financial backers.
David Sacks: Sacks is a member of the so-called PayPal mafia who helped found the payments startup with Musk in the late 1990s. He was said to be a key advisor in Musk’s inner circle as the takeover bid unfolded this spring.
Steve Jurvetson: Another member of Musk’s reported ‘brain trust’ who counseled the billionaire. Jurvetson was an early investor in Tesla, where Musk is CEO. He once served on the Tesla board, and currently serves on the board of Musk’s SpaceX.
Marc Andreessen: A Silicon Valley titan worth an estimated $1.6B and co-founder of the VC firm Andreessen Horowitz, which agreed to invest $400 million in Musk’s takeover deal.
Jason Calacanis: Also previously reported as involved in funding the deal. Launched an investment pool known as a special purpose vehicle to raise money from smaller investors at a minimum buy-in of $250,000
Keith Rabois: Another early PayPal executive alongside Musk. His connection to the Twitter deal is unclear.
Joe Lonsdale: A partner at 8VC, a San Francisco-based VC firm. ‘I have nothing to do with this aside from a few snarky comments,’ he said of Musk’s Twitter takeover.

Musk, 51, flew in from his home in Austin, Texas, to celebrate Genevieve’s big day. He posted a picture with Brin in the background on his Twitter account in an effort to mock a Wall Street Journal story reporting he had an affair with Brin’s wife Nicole Shanahan last year.
The paper claimed the affair was the catalyst for Shanahan and Brin to divorce.
Both the Tesla founder and Shanahan, 33, have denied the story with Musk saying Shanahan should sue. She and Brin, 48, split at the end of last year.
Jurvetson has been friends with Musk for several years. Before serving on the SpaceX board, he sat on the Tesla board from 2013-2020.

Jurvetson married Genevieve Lydstone in December 2018 in Courcheval, high in the French Alps. They now have three young children. According to her LinkedIn page, she is chair of the founders circle of the Psychedelic Science Fundraisers Collaborative which supports research into psychedelic medicines.
She is also the co-founder of Fetcher, a recruitment company.
According to public records, Jurvetson bought his secluded Half Moon Bay estate in 2005 under an LLC called Pelican Perch. It cost him $6.15 million dollars.
The 5,000 sq.ft., three-bed, two-bath home sits on almost a half an acre with sweeping views of the ocean and is the only home on its street. There isn’t another home within a half mile of the home which borders the golf course located in the prestigious Ocean Colony community.
He and Genevieve live full time in Los Altos, California, 27 miles south of Half Moon Bay in a $12 million gated 6,200 sq. ft. home with four bedrooms and seven bathrooms, sitting on almost two acres.
Jurvetson was an early investor in Tesla and SpaceX. He is one of the first owners of a Tesla Model S and second owner of the Tesla Model X.
He was a partner in Draper Fisher Jurvetson, a venture capital firm which focuses on high-tech opportunities.
But like his friend Musk, he has been involved in his share of scandal.

In November 2017, two years after he and his first wife Karla split, a USA Today article citing a tech news outlet, Recode, reported that Jurvetson left his venture capital firm ‘after an internal investigation uncovered a pattern of deception with women including extramarital affairs, some of which blurred the line between his professional and personal lives.’
It said, ‘An internal investigation conducted by Draper Fisher Jurvetson…found that Jurvetson had affairs with multiple women at the same time, Recode reported. The women, who work in the tech industry, met him at professional conferences.’
In a Facebook post on November 14, 2017, he denied the allegations saying, ‘Wholly false allegations about sexual predation and workplace harassment. Let me be perfectly clear: no such allegations are true.’
Later in the same post he wrote, ‘I think my personal life, and other people’s personal lives, should stay personal. It should not be in the court of public opinion. This is the last I will say on this subject for the foreseeable future.’
The women involved said the affairs were consensual.
Jurvetson completed his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering in two-and-a-half-years from Stanford, graduating Number 1 in his class.
He has a fascination with space and has a large space artifact collection.

He boasted on Instagram on July 10 about his latest space acquisition, where he wrote: ‘My new arrival from outer space. 72 lbs. with a 15 x 14′ face. Pallasites are the most visually stunning meteorites IMHO.’
He then went on to say how rare his meteorite is, ‘If this all sounds like a rare event, it is. 2% of meteorites in the Met Bull (Meteoritical Bulletin) are irons, and only 0.2% are Pallasites.
‘Based on isotope analysis at ETH Zürich, this meteorite spent the last 130-160 million years free floating in space,’ he added.
Musk called The Wall Street Journal article ‘total BS’ adding on Twitter that he hadn’t ‘even had sex in ages (sigh)’, then added, ‘I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.’
Lawyers for Shanahan told DailyMail.com that any suggestion that Nicole cheated on Sergey Brin with Elon Musk ‘is not only an outright lie – it’s defamation.’
Days later Musk tweeted again that Shanahan should sue the Wall Street Journal for their story claiming she cheated on Sergey with him, calling the newspaper’s story another ‘hit piece.’

Musk’s pasty-white torso was the subject of much Internet derision after he was pictured on a yacht in Mykonos, Greece, on July 19
He said that, as a public figure, he would not be able to win a defamation lawsuit against a news organization, but Shanahan should sue.
Brin was photographed leaving the Malibu celebrity hotspot NOBU with a mystery blonde date – while he was driving a Tesla – on Thursday last week. He has yet to comment publicly on the Wall Street Journal article.
As for Musk, he just can’t keep his name out of the news. Last week a judge ruled that Twitter could sue him for backing out of a $44billion deal to purchase the social media platform, and set a trial for October.
Musk had requested a February trial to have the time he needed for a thorough investigation of ‘spam bots’ on Twitter.
On Friday, the world’s richest man filed a countersuit against Twitter.
That all came after paparazzi caught him in swimming trunks on a yacht off Mykonos in Greece, and his pasty white torso became the subject of Internet ridicule.
And then at the weekend his father Errol with whom he has had a long-running feud – told an Australian TV show that he ‘wasn’t proud’ of his super-rich son and said his second son Kimbal, 49, is really his ‘pride and joy.’
Of Elon, Errol, 76, said: ‘He’s 50 now and I still think of him as a little boy. But he’s 50, I mean that’s an old man.’
